I think I've got Finals Fever...

I have finally made progress on my final Photoshop portfolio project; I still need to figure out what I'll do for the sixth and final master file...but because is it assumed with the regular pace of things that we would be working on the sixth file for this week, it's seems that I'm on top of things....sort of.

Now the other problem(s) lie within my other classes...I'm still at campus waiting around for the rehearsal for the Friday show to start (an hour from now)...honestly I would like to be home now working on the painting of my sister, which is starting to look like a wasted effort to bring it home because I have not touched it since then and my painting class is tomorrow. Hopefully I will get a tad forward with it tonight...

I have turned in my first draft of the final composition piece for Music class; it sounds real good melody-wise. Chord-wise, I honestly don't have a clue what I'm doing...I mean, I have some nice sounding harmonic notes, but I doubt that they would qualify as the required "I, IV, VII" Chord Progression...in fact, I had no idea which chord was which so I just doodled in "I, IV VI, VII" and turned it in my teacher's drop box...luckily, I should get feedback by tomorrow and he'll probably help me figure it out...

And then I have deadlines for things at home, like registering for next semester, getting ready for Christmas and such....I tell ya, the fall semesters never fail to end with a bang. :p

A Rickety Canvas

There was this small abstract acrylic painting that was hanging on my bedroom wall for a while but it's not exactly portfolio-worthy because the canvas itself was strangely "rigde-y" and sort of warped...probably because I had some random stuff sitting on it at one point...

so I decided about throwing it away, considering that I had other canvases that I could gesso over like this one so I wouldn't really miss it. But then I got curious about the blank, raw side of the cloth...
So I separated it from its frame and flipped it over and made this doodle with chisel-tip Sharpies... and it looks interesting enough....but still not worth keeping. What I have yet to do, and I think it would be cool to do, is paint on raw canvas...

I bet I could find some from the Dick Blick online warehouse; this would most likely be one of the few shopping havens for artists where you can get a lot as well as save a lot. And their shipping is really something else; sometimes they overdo it with the packaging (they pack orders of a few paintbrushes into a box big enough for 3 coffee table books) but it certainly comes to the doorstep fast: almost every order from these guys have arrived about a week earlier than the expected arrival date. In case you are curious, http://www.dickblick.com/

One more thing, I have now finished that still life that I wrote about from the previous post...here's the link: http://spencerthart.blogspot.com/2010/11/still-life-with-stump-and-small-table.html

What I've been doing this Friday

So on Thursday, I started this Still Life painting that you see here; it actually did not look much different than this picture. In fact, I drew and painted all of this from scratch that day. I decided to go the college art studio on Friday to paint more of the log, apple, teacup, and light bulb. I'm not too sure if I want to leave that roll thing under the table or not, though. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

a Double Double-Double

Since I have yet to ever eat this at an In N Out Burger joint, I decided to buy a " 4 x 4 " (4 beef patties and 4 slices of cheese) meal for the first time tonight...I'm starting to notice that while their Double-Double burgers are quite fresh they are not as filling as other fast food burgers that I have eaten; so I was curious to see what doubling that ante would come up to - The result is basically that while it was certainly more filling, I would not be quite as eager to say that it was worth the medium meal price of $8.69...

Cnidarians on the Tarmac(?)

I stumbled upon these awesome looking oil drips on my wet neighborhood street as I was coming home from the college studio today...they look like jellyfish under a thermal cam or something...

The New Blog Has Landed!

I have just composed my new, planned blog for my artworks!
You will find at least two works that I have already posted there...

Gotta get crackin'

Man, the last time I've posted something here was on September...

I really need to post regularly here.

Well actually I have planned to start up another blog solely for the purpose of previewing my artistic works. Not to say that I'll get rid of this blog; I'll keep for more of my personal prose...and journal-like thoughts...I'll probably still post daily sketches here as well as my video game moments (both good and not-so-good).

Not to mention, that the title for this blog (C.S.C.) is reeeealllly not cutting it for me...I want to change it real soon.

Chalk Drawing of Kirby

So, about a month back, I moved into the garage as my new bedroom and I gave this ancient yet awesome blackboard a new coat of paint; and to commemorate its freshness I decided to take colored chalk and draw Kirby waving and a Warp Star in the background. Nerdy it may be, but I still love it. ^ V ^

Oil on Canvas

The First Post

Well, I figure that the first post that I'll make is something like an Introductory note to my new blog.

Welcome to all who have come this far! ^ U ^
If you are wondering what to expect from this, I shall tell you right now...

First and foremost,
This shall be my primary art site dedicated to presenting all of my recent and top-notch works of art; and they will vary from sketches to watercolors to painting and even digital works (all planned to be surely and hopefully categorized).

I also plan to share some of my well-thought and random prose of Haiku poems and even a journal covering my "Currently Playing" moments with video games, a lifelong hobby of mine and darn proud of it.

As far as haiku goes, hopefully my poems will even become the keys to a new comic series that I'm thinking of establishing! Let's hope that may work out...

And of course I will share my raves and rants on life as I see fit to post.

Hope that you enjoy may works as much as I do making them. ^ ^;
